Join Us for Covering the Story - Our Community Comes Together 2015.

Join us on Thursday, November 5th from 7:30-9:00 am at L.A. Catering Event Center to recognize 31 reporters for covering 39 stories dedicated to the work nonprofits do in the community.

Nonprofits from Central Ohio have nominated stories from the past year that shine the light on the issues affecting our community. Join us to recognize the finalists and for the announcement of the winners.

Selection Committee Members used a 5-point scale to answer questions to judge each nomination independently. Judging was based on content, creativity, concept, effectiveness/impact and execution. Judges provided a score per question.

Criteria for nominations

Stories must be nominated by a nonprofit.

Stories should be from radio, television, print or web/digital.

Stories must have been published or aired between May 1st, 2014 and June 30, 2015.

Stories should, but are not required to, focus on one of the following issue areas:

  • Animal Welfare and Rights
  • Civic Involvement
  • Civic Action & Social Justice
  • Rights of the disabled
  • Education & Arts
  • Preservation & Environmental Protection
  • Healthy Lifestyles & Choices
  • Homelessness and housing
  • Hunger
  • Violence Prevention
  • LGBT Rights and Issues
  • Youth Rights and Services

Stories do not have to feature a member charity of Community Shares of Mid Ohio or your charity.

Stories can address, but are not limited to, policy and law; programs and services from nonprofits; investigative reporting of impact due to laws, policies or effects issues are having on the community.
