Below are some ways you can support and inspire social change in your everyday life and further connect with your community.

• Recycle: Many local parks offer free recycling. More information on what you can recycle, locations, and yard waste are available from the City of Columbus here. SWACO has a great list of locations to recyle your old used or broken electronics. Full list is available here.
   

• Carpool: Make a positive impact on the environment by sharing a ride. Learn more & sign up for a carpool through Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).
   

• Alternative Transportation: Walk, ride your bike or take the bus. Any choice promotes a greener & healthier environment. Learn more & sign up for a Guaranteed Ride Home through Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).
   

• Buy local: Try to make your purchases from local farmers or local businesses. By doing so, you help create sustainable communities. Check out this map to find a local farmers' market near you.
   

• Know your neighbors: Get involved in your neighborhood is easy. Meet your fellow neighbors. Start or join your local neighborhood block watch.
   

• Spay/Neuter: Help reduce the pet population and the number of homeless animals.
   

• Vote: The biggest way to make change is to vote during election season. Make your voice heard!
