What is Workplace Giving?

Community Shares collaborates with your workplace to make workplace giving work for you and your employees. Our streamlined approach makes it easy to implement with any size or type of workplace, while customizing it to fit your workplace’s culture and needs.

Workplace giving campaigns allow employees to make tax-deductible donations to Community Shares member charities through one-time or repeat payroll contributions of any dollar amount—from $1 a paycheck and up!

Community Shares of Mid Ohio represents more than 60 charities, and employers and their staffs can designate their donations to any member nonprofit based on what organization represents the causes they care about most.

    Invite Community Shares to start/join your workplace giving campaign. We tailor new or expanded campaigns to meet employer, and employee needs while increasing philanthropy and support for more community programs and services. The timespan can range from two weeks to a month, depending on the size of your workplace. The flexibility is yours!

  • Get Equipped
    Get Equipped

    Community Shares creates an online, branded donation page for your workplace. If you have employees who don’t access computers, Community Shares can provide paper donation forms to run a hybrid model for your workplace. You distribute the link and materials to your employees.

  • Promote
    Promote

    Invite Community Shares or its members to give presentations to your employees during a staff meeting on how contributions fund services and benefit the community, to share information about resources they might need, and to learn about volunteer opportunities.

  • Collect
    Collect

    Employees can donate to the Community Shares member nonprofit of their choice or choose multiple member nonprofits! Employees submit pledge information to us, and you send the payroll contributions to Community Shares.

    Community Shares distributes contributions from your employees directly to their chosen charity. These contributions provide steady, continual funding to local charities working in your community.
